What happens when the world unites to crank up the volume on a sustainable future?

We witnessed it firsthand at the FAO Headquarters in Rome, where we had the incredible honor of rocking the stage for the opening ceremony of the Smart Farming event. Seeing minds from every corner of the globe come together to build tomorrow was pure, inspiring energy.
For us, this is just further, beautiful confirmation of what we’ve always known: you, our incredible international community, are the living proof. Day after day, we grow louder and stronger together, driven by the shared desire to be a positive force for humanity.
"Rustica", our original composition from the Barock album, was the centerpiece of the performance, thanks to its energetic sound and its deep meaning regarding the relationship between human rationality and the power of wild nature. I introduced the track with the following speech, which echoed over a suspenseful musical intro leading into "Rustica".

"This is Golden Salt.
Golden Salt unites classical and modern.
Golden Salt unites tradition and innovation.
This is possible with no fear,
by looking to the best qualities of humankind.
This piece is our original composition
inspired by the untamed power of nature.
Its sound evokes the raw spirit of wild nature,
in a dance with our rational desire to understand it,
to master it and to respect it!
This is Rustica."

For me, 'Rustica' is more than just a crossover track. The distorted phrasing on the low notes gives me strength, and the violin coming in on the groove change gives me that final push. And finally, the monumental chords that bring back solidity, calm, and focus. I always get these chills when playing 'Rustica'; it evokes such intense emotion in me, and performing it fires me up with energy and the urge to create, fight, and live.

There is still one more aspect of this beautiful experience that I would like to share with you.
How did Golden Salt come to perform at the FAO? The answer is both complex and simple at the same time. We have spent years building Golden Salt into something that, through music, represents a desire for a connected, united humanity striving for beauty. Golden Salt has always shown that worlds which seem opposite can actually create beauty together. Our community of listeners has supported us year after year, crossing every national border, until Golden Salt became something truly grand. And that is how a woman of immense professionalism and artistic sensibility discovered Golden Salt, possessing the intuition and foresight to see in us the perfect soul for this important occasion, where tradition and innovation find the perfect path toward a sustainable and more just future. Golden Salt today performed at the Women’s Large Hill Individual, ski jumping final.

It was so much more than just a performance. In fact, we had the honor of performing before the first women’s ski jumping final on the large hill in the history. Yes, because 2026 is the very first year that this women’s event has been officially included in the Olympic Games!

For so long, they said the large hill wasn’t for women, incredibly denying them access to this discipline.
They were wrong.

And if Golden Salt is “the salt of life,” then it truly has to be for everyone, always. That was a shared victory of courage, talent, and possibility for everyone.

There’s a different weight in the air when history is being written.

What did this experience mean to me, personally?
It was about living a moment where history shifted toward a better future. Through the warmth of that international crowd, it was once again confirmed to me that boundaries don’t exist, we all share the same heartbeat. And yes, it was incredibly cold! But the energy from the crow... kept us burning.
The energy at the Olympics was something I could only have imagined, and as is often the case, reality far exceeded expectations. The crowd was pure warmth swaying in the snow. Flags from all over the world waved, adding color to a backdrop of light and sound. A massive workforce keeps this near-flawless operation running. You could see the spark in the workers' eyes, despite the inevitable exhaustion of those endless days, driven by the clear sense that they were part of something far beyond ordinary experience. Every jump is a sustained rush; every landing, an explosion. For the first time in this Olympic category, three women rightfully claimed their spot on the podium.

If the Overture of Ruins of Silence represents the secular requiem of our humanity, vibrating from its own ashes, Humanity asks a question: are we truly aware of the kind of humanity we are? And above all, what kind of humanity do we want to be?
In this piece I use Sardinian and English. Sardinian is the language in which my thoughts move most instinctively, while English is the language through which we have shared our music with the world for many years, reaching our international fanbase, something we really love! Arianna has already written in her diary about the significance of the two languages we chose for Humanity.
Humanity is an original and unreleased track that first appeared with the release of the album Ruins of Silence on November 21, 2025, and was later re-released as a single on March 27, 2026. Its lyrics include a reference in the phrase ‘su mundu est gai.’
In Sardinian culture there is a famous song that has become part of popular tradition. There is hardly a Sardinian who does not know it. The phrase comes from a poem written at the end of the nineteenth century by the poet Peppino Mereu. The original text is actually a poem in the form of a letter, titled A Nanni Sulis, addressed to a dear friend of his, Nanneddu, a diminutive of Giovanni.
Mereu was a bohemian poet from Tonara, often at odds with the authorities and deeply sensitive to the suffering of ordinary people. The text of Nanneddu Meu says:
“Nanneddu meu, su mundu est gai: a sicut erat non torrat mai”
That means:
“My dear Nanneddu, the world is like this: it will never return to what it once was”
The poem describes an extremely poor Sardinia, devastated by what Mereu calls “tyrannies, infamies, and famines.” He speaks of people who are starving, forced to eat “bread made of chestnuts and even earth mixed with acorns.” When he writes “su mundu est gai” the poet is not saying that things should be this way. He is simply telling his friend a painful truth: the world is governed by injustice, and the poor are destined to suffer.
Toward the end of the poem, he gives Nanneddu a bitter piece of advice in order to survive in such a world: “faghe su surdu, ettad’a tontu” (“play deaf, pretend to be a fool”). In other words, that is the only way not to be crushed when “the world is like this.”
But when I hear these words, I also hear a kind of resignation, a resignation to being this kind of humanity.
And that is not how I want to think.

Our Humanity asks a different question: isn’t it time to finally face the truth about what kind of humanity we are, and what kind of humanity we want to be?
